MDA nominates John Lemke for the 2017 Young AFCEA 40 Under 40 Award
MDA nominated John Lemke for the 2017 Young AFCEA 40 Under 40 Award. AFCEA established this new award to highlight young members who have made a "significant contribution to supporting their organization or client through the use of information technology (IT) or providing innovation and thought leadership in a technical STEM field,” according to the AFCEA website.
MDA nominated John for his contribution in improving the efficiency and automation of large-scale processing systems for our organization. Since joining MDA, John has designed and implemented numerous custom geoprocessing algorithms that improve our processes and services. Most recently, he developed an auto-scaling mosaicking tool for processing thousands of satellite images in parallel in a cloud environment, reducing the CPU processing time for MDA's NATURALVUE® 2.0 global image mosaic from five weeks in-house to five days in the cloud, and reducing the overall project time from one year to a few months.
Please join us in congratulating John on his nomination and in wishing him luck in the upcoming Young AFCEA 40 Under 40 selection process.
